Adan Mohamed

Hon. Adan Mohamed is the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization and Enterprise Development. Prior to this appointment, he was the Chief Administrative Officer for Barclays Africa, with responsibility for ten (10) Barclay’s Bank subsidiaries in Africa. Hon. Mohamed performed various senior roles in Barclays including CEO of Barclays Kenya for over 10 years, and Managing Director – Barclays East and West Africa since 2008.

Prior to joining Barclays, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (London) in the Management Consultancy and Business Advisory Services. His international career has seen him serve in the UK, US and Africa.

Adan is an MBA graduate from Harvard Business School and an alumni of the University of Nairobi, Kenya where he graduated with a First Class Honors degree in Commerce (Accounting option). He is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
He currently serves as the Chairman of the African Council of Ministers for Industry.

Essajee Abdulatif

CEO First Community Bank

He is a renowned scholar in Accounting and served on both the professional standards  committee and the disciplinary committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He majored in his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Nairobi

Mr. John Njiraini

Mr. Njiraini is the Commissioner General of the Kenya Revenue Authority.

He was the authority's Commissioner of domestic taxes and was pivotal in ensuring Kenyan members of Parliament were finally looped into the tax paying bracket.



Kigen Caroline





Caroline Kigen became a member of the Compliance Advisory Panel in January 2008 and deputy chair in January 2013. She was nominated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Ms. Kigen is currently chief executive officer and secretary to the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, a position she has held since June 2006. Previously, Ms. Kigen was director of Professional Services and deputy to the chief executive officer of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. In addition, she has served as lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Nairobi.
Ms. Kigen graduated with an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Nairobi in 2001.


Mbaadi John


MP Gwasi Constituency

He was elected to represent the Gwassi Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007. He Has been very vocal and instrumental in parliament and In September 2012, Mbadi was appointed the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.




Dr.Ndemo Bitange

Former Ps Information and Communication

Dr. Ndemo was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Communication where he promptly started new development programs, including marketing Kenya as a destination for Business Processing Outsourcing. Between 1989 and 1993 he was a Financial Systems Analyst with Medtronic Inc. a Fortune 500 company in the USA. He joined University of Nairobi in 1993 as a Tutorial Fellow rising through the ranks to become a Senior Lecturer in the Business School. In 2005, Dr. Ndemo continued to champion strategies of moving and transforming Kenya into the digital age in all spheres.

Prof. Kinandu Muragu

Executive Director, Kenya School of Monetary Studies

Professor Muragu joined Central Bank of Kenya as Executive Director, Kenya School of Monetary Studies on May 02, 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree, an MBA (Finance & Accounting) from the University of Nairobi and a PhD (Finance) from the University of Glasgow, UK. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Accountants of Kenya (FCPA).

Before joining the School, Prof. Muragu worked under the sponsorship of the World Bank as the Projects Coordinator for the 19 Donor-funded Education Sector Development Programme in the Kingdom of Lesotho. He was responsible for creation of the e-governance system for the education sector that enabled him participate in the implementation of the e-schools project in Lesotho and thereafter follow progress of the initiative across the continent. He has consulted for a variety of international organizations such as the World Bank, World Food Programme and UNICEF. He has also held the position of Dean of Finance and Administration and Chief Finance Officer at the United States International University-Africa where he was also Associate Professor of Finance.

Prof. Muragu has also carried out consulting assignments in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Swaziland as a Senior Consultant for the Eastern and Southern African Institute (ESAMI), one of Africa's top management institutes. Before joining ESAMI, he had lectured at the University of Nairobi for 10 years rising to be a senior lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance. Prof. Muragu had his basic accountancy training at Delloite and Touche and later at Pricewaterhouse and Nyaga Associates. As Executive Director of the School, Prof. Kinandu is charged with providing overall intellectual & professional leadership as well as guidance to fulfil the Vision, Mission and aspirations of the School.

Dr. James Mwangi


James holds four Honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of his contributions to the Kenyan society. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (accounting option) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant. James has been honoured twice with Presidential national awards. He was vested the First Class Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) national decoration-the highest presidential award to a civilian, for outstanding contribution in economic development. He is currently the Chairman of Kenya's Vision 2030 Delivery Board charged with the responsibility of ensuring Kenya becomes a middle income country with global high standards of living by the year 2030. He serves on several international bodies as an advisor, is a Board member of the Africa Leadership Academy in South Africa, the Global Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition among others and is the Chancellor Meru University College of Science and Technology. James has wide experience in the banking industry and inclusive finance.

Mr. Mbuvi Ngunze


Mbuvi holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree accounting option from the University of Nairobi. He is a Chartered Accountant (England and Wales) and is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Management Development Program (PMD75). He joined Price Waterhouse in Nairobi in 1990 and was seconded to Manchester in the United Kingdom where he was articled. In the UK, he started off as an Audit Assistant and left 5 years later as an Assistant Manager. In 1995, he rejoined Price Waterhouse in Kenya as Audit Manager, leading audits of various blue chip companies, and also involved in training and recruitment. In 1998, he joined Bamburi Cement (a Lafarge subsidiary) as Finance Manager and was promoted to the Finance Director’s position in February 1999. He held this position up to March 2002 when he was appointed Managing Director Hima Cement Uganda (Lafarge). In May 2006, he moved to the headquarters of Lafarge in Paris. He first took up the role of Mission Director in the Group Audit Department for six months, and then was appointed Group Vice President Internal Communications in November 2006. In March 2009, he was appointed General Manager for Lafarge’s operations in Tanzania (Mbeya Cement). He joined Kenya Airways in September 2011 as Chief Operating Officer. Mbuvi has extensive Board room experience having served on the Board of Bamburi Cement (from 1999), Hima Cement, Mbeya Cement, and serving as Secretary to the East African Cement Producers Association.

Mr. Linus Gitahi


Holds an MBA from USIU and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Nairobi. He is the Group Chief Executive Officer and joined the board in December 2006. He previously worked with a leading pharmaceutical company as Managing Director based in Nigeria.

He is a director of the Group's subsidiary companies and Property Development and Management Limited, an associate company. Mr. Gitahi is a member of the Nominations, the Editorial and the Strategic Planning Committees

Mr. Edward Ouko


Mr. Edward Ouko is the Auditor-General of the Republic of Kenya. He was appointed the Auditor-General on 27 August, 2011. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (FCA) and is a co-opted Council Member of the Institute representing Africa. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA) and holds a B.Com Degree (Hons) in Finance and Accounting from the University of Nairobi. Before his appointment, Mr. Ouko was the Auditor General at the African Development Bank where he directed the audit function and was also in charge of the anti-corruption and fraud function up to June 2010. Mr. Ouko was with the African Development Bank (AfDB) for over 24 years in various capacities

Mrs. Agnes Odhiambo



Mrs. Odhiambo is a seasoned Accounting and Financial Management professional who has over the years, developed significant knowledge and expertise hence remarkable competencies in start-up operations, development of business strategy and implementation, business turnaround, business process improvement, financial reporting, procurement, human resource management, financial consultancy and public financial management.

She holds an MBA and a B. Com (Accounting) degree from the University of Nairobi.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.  An accomplished finance professional nearly 30 years progressive experience in roles of increasing responsibility. At least 24 years of these have been at senior management level with board responsibility. This experience has been gained mainly in blue chip organizations in the manufacturing, retail, service and financial sector in both private and public organizations.

Mrs. Odhiambo was appointed the first Controller of Budget of the Republic of Kenya in August 2011 to oversee implementation of the budgets of the national and county governments, authorize withdrawals from the public funds and report on budget implementation to the Senate, the National Assembly and the Executive on a quarterly basis. Upon assuming the office Mrs Odhiambo embarked on operationalizing the Office in terms of infrastructure and human capital including and setting up functional county offices to serve the county governments.


Mr. John LuchisoiI mbogo

Finance Director, Mumias Sugar Company Ltd

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Accounting Option, from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, CPA (K), and has attended Senior Financial Management and Leadership Courses locally, in the UK and South Africa. He has previously served as Head of Finance in Sony Sugar and as Finance Manager in British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.   He also served as Finance Director BAT R.D Congo, Managing Director BAT Sierra Leone and as Group Internal Audit Manager, B.A.T in the Southern Africa region.  John has also worked in Ernst& Young where he qualified as an Accountant. He brings a wealth of experience locally and internationally in Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Audit, Risk Management and Sales & Operations Planning


Mr. Jonathan Ciano

C.E.O. Uchumi Supermarkets Ltd

Mr. Jonathan Ciano has served as the Chief Executive at Uchumi Supermarkets Ltd. since July 2006. He led a team of a management group that was set up to restructure the supermarket. In this role, Mr. Ciano has seen the turnaround of Uchumi, culminating in the lifting of its suspension from trading at the Exchange in May 2011.

He was previously in a team that facilitated the turn-about of the Kenya Petroleum Refinery Limited (KPRL) and the Kenya Power and Lighting Corporation Limited (KPLC). This was after he was involved in strategic change and organizational buyouts in Shell international companies. Mr. Ciano holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honors degree with Finance and accounting and masters in Business administration (Strategy & Finance) from the University of Nairobi. He is also a fellow of the Kenya Institute of management-FKIM

Mr. Wairegi holds a Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant - CPA (K). He is the Group Managing Director of British-American Investments Company (Kenya) Ltd., the parent company to British-American Insurance Company (K) Ltd and British-American Asset Managers Limited. He is also a Director of Housing Finance (HF), Chairman of Kenyatta University Council and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Insurance Training and Education Trust.







Dr. Kipng'etich holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree from University of Nairobi. He joined Equity after an eight year successful career as the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Wildlife Service and was previously the Managing Director of Investment Promotion Centre. He is a member of the Kenya Tourist Board, and serves on the Boards of Kenya Forest Service, Police Oversight Board, Moi Girls’ Eldoret, Starehe Girls’ School, Starehe Boys’ Centre, Kenya Tea Development Authority and the Kenya Red Cross Society. He is a leading member of the Mau Task Force, The Steering Committee for the Marketing of Kenya Stadia and The 1st University Council Member - Management University of Africa.  He is also the Patron of AIESEC – University of Nairobi.

Mr. Joshua Oigara, CEO, KCB Group

Mr. Joshua Nyamweya Oigara has served as Group Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Commercial Bank Ltd since January 1, 2013. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of the Company between January 12, 2012 and January 2013. He also serves as Group Chief Financial Officer at KCB Bank Group for East Africa. He joined the Bank in November 2011 from Bamburi Cement Ltd where he served as Executive Director and Group Financial Director and Chief Financial Officer for the East Africa region. During his professional career, he was also Group Controller, Finance at Bamburi Cement Group for East Africa, a function he held between 2006 and 2008. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Manager, Business Performance at Hima Cement Ltd, a function he assumed after his service at Bidco Oil Ltd as Group Business Performance Manager for the period between 2002 and 2003. From 1999 to 2001, he was Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya. In 1997, he became Associate of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nairobi, Kenya, a post he held until 1998. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a title he obtained from the School of Accountancy, the Strathmore University, Kenya in 1997 and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration degree in International Business Management from the Edith Cowan University in Australia in 2011. He also completed the Advanced Management Program from INSEAD or Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires, France in 2010. He completed the Program for Management Development at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina, the United States in 2006. Mr. Amos Kimunya served as minister in the Republic of Kenya in the ministries of transport, trade, finance, and lands and settlement. He is a former member of parliament for Kipipiri constituency.

Mr. Kimunya pursued a bachelor of commerce (accounting option) at the University of Nairobi between 1983 – 1986.

Mr. Jimnah M. Mbaru

Mr. Mbaru is the Chairman of Dyer and Blair Investment Bank Limited and the Chairman of National Cereals and Produce Board and Jitegemee Trust. He is also a Director of several other financial and non financial institutions. He is a former chairman of the African Stock Exchange Association and a former member of National Economic and Social Council. He is also an associate Professor, graduate school of business, University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa. Mr. Mbaru holds a Master of Business Administration from IMD formerly IMEDE in Lausanne, Switzerland, a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree both from the University of Nairobi.
