The Finance and Investment Students Association event was held in Lower Kabete Campus, University of Nairobi at NTB IV. The attendance was excellent with the highest number of participants being students. The event kicked off at 9.00 a.m. and ended at 3.00 p.m.
The event was graced by the following companies and business entities;
- Reckitt Benckisett
- Pine hill consultancy/CMA
The key speakers of the above organizations attractively addressed the students. There was full cooperation from both the parties; the students were highly disciplined and the guests too handled the students with a lot of courtesy.
The guest speakers included:
- Madam I. Kiambi [KPMG]
- Mr. Geoffrey Ochieng’ [ACCA]
- Mr.Karumba Kinyua [Pine hill consultancy/CMA]
- Ms. Diana [Reckitt Benckiset]
- Mr. Jesse Gachoka [Kilimall]
The following topics were in the pinnacle of discussion:
- Interview preparation and conduct during interviews
- Curriculum Vitae, cover letters and other credentials
- Career growth and development
- Opportunities in the investment and fund management.
After each and every presentation, there were Questions and Answers [Q and A] sessions. The sessions attracted a good number of students who actually found amicable solutions to their problems and learnt from the presentations. The session was lively and at the same time attractive.
Finally, the students found time to register as Kilistars, courtesy of Kilimall. The registration was free of charge. Gifts such as flash discs, power banks, t-shirts and a smart phone were offered to students following their active participation during the event. The students found time to participate in a lottery game where the kilistar cards were picked at random and the winner stood a chance of winning either of the above mentioned gifts from Kilimall; all the gifts were won by the students.
